A little history
Chic to Chic first opened its doors in May 1997. Our founder, Ellen Didion, made it her mission to provide superior customer service and the finest clothing, jewelry, handbags, and accessories at affordable prices. Ellen brings 17 years of experience from the hip New York retail scene, where she worked everywhere from sales to district management.
Always eager to learn more, Ellen settled in the Washington DC area where she completed a bachelor's degree in Business at the University of Maryland. While working three jobs to pay for school she discovered the world of high-end consignment. It quickly became the subject of her final business paper, which became a model for her first business venture: Chic to Chic, Inc.
We're happy to say Chic to Chic has grown thanks to the support and expertise of our very own "Chic Girls", our loyal customers, and Ellen's ongoing vision.
September 2008 saw the opening of Chic to Chic's first sister store in historic downtown Frederick. With a trendy new location, hot inventory, and a seamless virtual shopping experience, Chic to Chic too continues the Chic tradition of innovation, value, and service.
